Tips for On Line Hat Bidding and Shopping

Buying hats on-line may seem difficult since most people like the idea of first trying hats on for fit, color, and style to see if you are gefortable with the hats you are interested in. We ALL understand that point.
But actually, it's not as difficult as you might think! And considering thegreat bargains you find on okay, its usually well worth the tremendous savings in time and money. So here are some techniques for considering on-line okay hat shopping as an attractive alternative to paying much higher prices!
First, consider the style, brim width, crown shape and height.Position a small mirror beside your geputer---or a recent close up photograph of yourself.Picture yourself in the hat you areseeingon the geputerized gallery.
Secondly, consider how gefortable you would be wearing the hat. Does it fit your personality, style of clothing, and body shape? Ifthe hat of your dreams passes all these tests, then you are pretty safe in knowing that you will be making a wise purchase.
Now gees the hard part. "What if I buy it, and it is too small"? Well, most hats are lot tougher than we give them credit for.If you are purchasing a felt hat; you canpretty easily stretch the insidefabric sweatband, and hatby simplyemitting a little steam from a steamer, or tea kettle inside of the hat and gently stretching it over a bowl, pot, or padded wig stand to get the desired fit. Rarely will you do damage. Natural and paper straws respond in the same manner. Poly straws tend to be a little more resistant to stretch---but usually can be done in a few attempts. Fabric hats react in the same way. Simply, steam the lining as well as the hat. If for some reason, you lose a flower or feather in the process, a little Sobo glue, or Fabric glue will do the trick.
"Or.... what if it is too big?" Well that's usally very easy to solve. Go to your local hardware store and purchase a role of window insulation foam rubber with a sticky backing (less than$4).(It is almost exactly the same item sold by milliners for hat reducer). Cut a length to fit inside the hat sweatband, or on the inside of the crown circumference. Pull the paper off and press it firmly around the inside band. You can respeat this process until you get the exact fit you need.
Oh yeah! "But hat shipments are expensive"! Well, truthfully, you may be correct. But keep in mind---you will pay for the same shipment and other overhead at a much higher price, if you purchase the same hat in a shop! Again, the savings generated from lower pricing of the hat itself is well worth it.
Shopping from sellers who offer shipping cost breaks for multiple items is also another way of saving some of the costs.
What about used hats? Typically, there is little to fear in purchasing used hats as long as you are careful to clean the hat before putting it on your head! Most germs tend to dissappear in air. All you need is a little disinfectant or bleach mixed in water, and a spray disinfectant that can be used after steaming your hat a little to open the inside fibers.
If, the hat is heavily soiled, you may need to have it professionally cleaned.
Hope these hints helped! So I bid you A DO! Hats Off to all the winners out there!
