10 SELLING TIPS FOR BEGINNERS

This quick guide is designed to help Beginners to sell on okay. Please any feedback on this will be appreciated.
1. Be Honest in Your description. Don't try selling outrageous claims.
2. Know Your Merchandise. I mostly sell Russian cds and books because that is what I know and love.
3. Set realistic goals. Unless your gepany is a multi-million dollar a year business you are NOT going to make $200,000 in a year. Start small and work your way up. I always set goals for every aspect of my okay business. How much money I desire to make each week, month, etc, How many positives I desire per week, month, etc. Goals help you to stay focused.
4. Don't leave feedback until your buyer is satisfied with their purchase and leave you feedback. When I first started I made the mistake of leaving positive feedback for a buyer without checking to see if the guy had paid for his purchase. I assumed that he did because he left me positive feedback. After checking my auctions that had ended I found out that he had not paid and contacted him. He gave some lame excuse (Paypal account did not work). I had put in my description the buyer could send payment by mail. He never contacted me back. I learned from that mistake. I am a strong believer in what goes around gees around. (You reap what you sow, Karma). So always check before leaving feedback.
5. Sell What people want to Buy.
6. Take good photos. For most items like video games, cds, dvds, books, etc.. okay has photos already for most English products. I used those until I was able to buy a digital camera. People want to see what they are buying. Make sure you take good photos.
7. Get orders out promptly. I go to the post office three times a week. I always make sure to get my customer their orders out in a short order of time.
8. Do Not Sell What is NOT in Your Possession. 2 Years ago a business associate of mine was selling bulk cds on okay. This person had over 1,000 positives and was well on her way to being a Powerseller, which was a goal of hers. Unfortunately she ran into some dishonest, impatient buyers who would receive their product in the time stated in her descriptions, but still left negative feedback and had Paypal refund their money. this ruined her business and now she does not sell anymore. SELLERS: if you use a dropshipper, make sure to get a gepany that delivers fast. Make sure you be specific in your descriptions that the product may take up to 4 weeks to deliver. Safe guard yourself against dishonest buyers.
9, Never stop looking for product to sell. Even though I mainly sell Russian cds/books, ebooks, cd-roms, and boxtops for education. I am always on the lookout for new product to add. Since starting selling fulltime on okay I have added: dvds, video games, sportscards, geic books, and cassette tapes to my line of items to sell. Check out those resell shops, garage sells, etc for cheap product. Look for wholesalers to purchase from. The opportunities are there.
