Cloth Diapers are an easy, economical and environmental solution to your diapering needs. Modern cloth diapers and nappies can be easy to use in All-In-One, pocket or two-part varieties. They are made of traditional cotton or even exotic fabrics such as hemp or bamboo.
Unlike disposable diapers, reusable cloth diapers have an initial investment. However, they can be washed and worn again and again for several generations. With the help of okay you can find great used or low-priced cloth diapers for all of your needs. This will be your most economical solution!
Cloth diapers are available in many size ranges from Preemie to Toddler, Youth or Adult. Let us show you some of the most popular options.
Prefolds and waterproof wrapsContour/Fitted Diapers with waterproof wrapsPocket DiapersAll-In-One DiapersPass Thru Pocket Diapers(TM)Cloth diapers range in what are called diapering "systems". By far the most economical is the Prefold and Diaper wrap/cover solution. Prefold diapers are not like the flat diapers used by many diaper services of the olden days. Modern diapers are flat diapers that have been prefolded and sewn. They are known as CPF: Chinese Prefolds, DSQ: Diaper-Service Quality and Indian Prefolds. They can be found in the traditional 100% cotton variety, hemp/cotton blends or even Bamboo! Prefolds are often secured with the "Snappi(TM)" fastener. The Snappi(TM) is an excellent replacement for traditional diaper pins. However, this solution is not a waterproof one and will require a cover formerly known as "plastic pants".
Contour diapers are diapers that have been cut into the shape of an hourglass, but do not have fasteners. They are designed to better acgemodate the fit of legs and reduce the bulk of prefolds. Fitted Diapers are just like the contour diapers; however, they have been dressed with elastic often at the legs and waist to fit like a disposable diaper! Fitted diapers are often made by Work/Stay-At-Home-Moms/Parents, the WAHM, SAHM or WAHP. Contour and Fitted diapers require a protective outer layer, too.
To waterproof your prefold, contour or fitted diaper, use a diaper cover or wrap. The Cadillac of diaper covers is a wool wrap or cover, sometimes called wool soakers, longies or shorties. There are other waterproof covers often described as PUL: PolyUrethane Laminate covers, WPB: Waterproof Breathable covers, or Nylon taffeta covers. The most popular PUL diaper covers are labeled as 1 or 2 mil and can gee in solid colors or prints. Either 1 or 2 mil is waterproof and has some breathability. The WPB covers are made of expensive technical fabrics like Gore-Tex (R), Ultrex(TM), Pacific Tech(TM) or EPIC by Nextec(R) and are the most breathable of the synthetic covers. Finally, Nylon covers are the traditional "plastic pants" with the least amount of breathability.
Pocket Diapers have changed the cloth diapers we use today to be easier to use, quick drying, and economical. Pocket diaper systems gee in two and three part systems, but require very little preparation. There is a "stuffable" pocket that you can reuse over and over again and YOU choose the absorbency. This system is quick-drying and highly absorbent! The "stuffing" or absorbent part of the diaper can be made of gemon washcloths, hemp, bamboo or even microfiber. You choose the amount of absorbency and stuff the diaper with as much as you want with no additional fasteners. You simply close the pocket diaper and fasten with the built-in Velcro-like fastener or snaps!
All-In-One (AIO) diapers hit the scene with the most convenience. With an AIO, you simply put the diaper on and go! They are just like a disposable diaper, but can be used over and over by washing in your laundry. Oftentimes, AIO diapers take longer to dry and can be bulky, but they are very convenient!
The revolutionary Pass Thru Pocket Diaper(TM) allows you to gebine the convenience of the AIO with the custom absorbency and quick-drying of the pocket diaper. Exclusively offered through Eco-Dipes and here on okay, the Pass Thru Pocket Diaper(TM) is an economical solution to ease the transition into cloth diapers.
