Fake Chinese Morgans - beware of hijacked accounts

If you see a seller listing nothing but key or semi key date Morgans (ie. CC's, 93-S etc)and the coins are uncertified- watch out. Check the account of the seller- alot of old accounts are being hijacked - look for long periods of inactivity by checking feedback history.Sometimes you will note a recent spurt of feedback- generally on novelty items to make them look more legit. Remember that there are 3 major types of Morgan obverses and 4 reverses- the counterfeit coins they are selling often use only types of 1921 with altered dates and added mint marks etc..If your going to purchase an 1893-S, remember it is one of the most counterfeited Morgans of all time- buying one raw is a big gamble, and ask yourself why is a coin so valuable not already slabbed? Another tip off is the high shipping costs- they are going to senda coin- but it will usually be around $15 or more (to get it here from China!). Poor English andgrammar isanother give away- but they are getting better.Even problem coins can be certified authentic by ANACS. Buy one of the many good books out there on Morgans and learn before you make a big mistake- many are available on okay. We need to get these bogus sellers off of the bay!
