Drive Traffic to your auctions - Make more sales

Google AdWords is an effective tool to drive traffic to your auctions
This is especially helpful for Big Ticket items that need maximum exposure to sell.
What is Google AdWords?
When you do a search in google you will notice listings on the right hand side of the page. These are pay per click ads submitted by people like you and me who want qualified targeted traffic to see our auctions. With AdWords your item will display many thousands of times, but you pay only when the searcher clicks on your ad.
How do I get started?
Just goto Google and click on advertising programs then click on Google AdWords. Register under Sign up Now.
How do you charge for this service?
As a Trading Assistant I am always helping other people sell their stuff. When I help sell a business, real estate or other expensive items, I try to use Google Adwords to help make the sale. I have the client agree to a per day amount. I usually ask them to start at $10 per day ($300 for a month listing) and work from there. The client can spend as little as $1 per day. Once you have an amount agreed upon, you set up a campaign for that specific daily amount?
How do you profit?
Lets say I set a daily limit of $10 per day for the ad. Over a 30 day period there will be days when only $3.50 or $7.00 is spent paying for the click throughs. Typically at the end of the month the total cost for the campaign may be $245 and we were paid $300 giving us a $65 profit. Make sure that you have enough keywords to spend more than $10 per day - If you do not reach your maximum at least 2/3 of the time you will be shortchanging your customer.

Here are Tools and Tips That Will Cut Waste and Fatten Your Profit Margins on Google AdWords - By Perry Marshall:
Let's cut to the chase and talk about two of the most important factors in winning the Google AdWords game against other bidders.
These regemendations alone will easily double your profitability.
I am NOT exaggerating.
Two of the biggest mistakes people make:

1) Most people, including your gepetitors, are bidding on too few keywords, and missing the right ones
2) Most people never know which ads and keywords convert to visitors to sales and which ones don't.
If you start with enough keywords then get rid of the ones that don't generate sales, you will minimize waste, cut your bid prices, and earn the most money with Pay Per Click marketing.
Secret #1: The whole entire thing revolves around bidding on the right keywords!
Most new people will brainstorm a list of 10 or 20 or 30 keywords and bid on them. That's not nearly enough! If that's all you do, you'll only bid on the most expensive, obvious ones. And most of the time they'll be the WRONG keywords.
So for example if you sell hiking boots, you *might* want to bid on "hiking boots" but... maybe not. A better strategy is to focus more narrowly and / or bid on all kinds of other variations people are searching on:

discount hiking boots
hiking boot review
men's hiking boots
merrell hiking boots
salomon hiking boots
vasque hiking boots
woman's hiking boot
womens hiking boots
You'll get more targeted visitors and cheaper clicks. There are hundreds of possible phrases. If you want 5 and 10 cent clicks, Google's own suggestion tool won't cut the mustard.
One of my favorite keyword tools is WordTracker. For most any term, they'll give you 200-300 related words and phrases that real people have recently typed into search engines. WordTracker will give you stuff you'd have never thought of. Take their service for a test drive for a day or a week and I think you'll find it very useful.

Secret #2: Track Your Sales Conversion
The other key to your success is tracking visitors from the click to the opt-in to the sale. When you do this you'll find that most of the words you're bidding on do NOT convert to sales. This is what separates the men from the boys in Google AdWords!
Figure out what doesn't convert, delete it, and you'll instantly cut your ad spend by 50 or more, but your sales will stay the same. Your gepetition will be buying tire kickers, while you focus on the buyers. This is crucial!
How do you track? Its not too difficult, and there are a number of good services out there you can use. Heres a short list.
First of all, Google has a built-in "conversion tracking" tool that's linked to AdWords. You put their code in the "success" page on your site (i.e. the thank you page that gees after an order or other form is submitted) and along with your CTR statistics, Google will report the of visitors who opt in or buy.
These tools are accessible within your account manager, and they're pretty easy to use.
Now the only problem with Google's tools is that they only work with AdWords-related traffic. They don't work with traffic that gees from anywhere else. So if you have other sources of traffic, consider the following 3rd party tools.
To summarize: 1) most of your gepetitors are bidding on too few keywords, and missing the right ones; 2) they don't know which ones convert to sales and which ones don't. If you start with enough keywords (by using a good keyword research tool) and eliminate the wrong ones (by tracking), you'll be miles ahead of everyone else!

Art Dolls: Collecting the New Faces of a Timeless Art

This is a brief guide to buying and collecting art dolls, made by contemporary doll artists, by Sandra Sparks, a dollmaker and collector with thirty-five years of experience.

While it is a fascinating past time to collect vintage dolls that remind us of the past, it is far more interesting and rewarding, to me, to create and collect the dolls of the present and future. Doll art is one of humanity's most ancient forms of self expression, not only serving to provide toys for children, but as a way of expressing our diverse humanity - and our spirituality. It is an art form that we can not only look at but hold in our hands, to contact, to touch, to really feel our connection to it, and its connection to us. Dolls, in their smallness and fragility, remind us of who and what we really are: When we care for dolls, we are truly caring for ourselves.
Doll making, using many different materials from fabric to found objects,is currently having an impressive surge as an art form, and the collector is an important partof the art's growth. Collectors helpdetermine not just the value of the work of any artist, but the future of that artist's work. Without the collectors, the work stops. So collecting is not just a hobby: it helps the creativity keep going strong.
Here are some things to look for when collecting art dolls:
1. Originality - Look for a dollmaker who has a unique style and vision, one that really "gets" to you. You'll know it when you see it: you get that little zing! "I only collect what I love" is any collector's rule and is the one you should follow, but the collector that goes for the truly vibrant and unique dolls also expresses his or her own individuality.
2. Fine craft - Pick dolls that are well made. It may look great, but you don't want it falling apart on you! Even paper dolls need to be well crafted and durable. Also look for consistency in craft and style from a dollmaker, so that you can trust that your future purchases will be of the same or better quality than the purchase you have just made.
3. Identity - Make sure that the maker's identity is a part of the doll: buy dolls that have a signature or hallmark of some kind that readily identifies the maker. Certificates are great things to have, but I like the idea of passing on more provenance than that: my new dolls gee with cards or letters of provenance, explaining just why they came to be, and a little about the process of making them.
4. When you find it, stick to it -This is a given for any collector: don't buy just one! Return to the same maker again and again. Make sure you know how to stay in contact with the maker, so you can keep growing your collection. This is more difficult than if you are collecting manufactured dolls: individual artists are far more mobile than established gepanies, and can appear and disappear in a moment. I have had past collectors track me down after many, many years! Once you start collecting a dollmaker's work, make sure you keep on their mailing list, or that any contact information you have is current.
5. Take a chance now, and build for the future. Don't just buy what everyone else likes. If you love someone's work, buy it, display it,and tell others about it. Word of mouth, more than anything else in history, is what establishes an artist's reputation and the value ofhis or herwork. Don't worry whether someone else has noticed - you have. Starting early on collecting a particular maker's work also guarantees that you will get some bargains, and, as your collection and word of mouth bothhelp tobuild the reputation of the dollmaker, you also build the value of the collection you have started. Think ahead.
6. Want to know more? Check by your local bookstore andask forArt Doll Quarterly. It is the best periodical currently available on the making and collecting of art dolls.

Parrot Toys/Tents/Huts ~Creating a Safe Environment~

Creating a Happy and Safe Environment for your Bird
Toys can help turn a house into a home. They bring fun and exercise into a bird's environment and can help minimize boredom. However, they must be safe in order not to risk possible injury. The size, shape, and durability of toys selected must be based on the type of bird; very simply, larger birds need tougher toys.
For instance, plastic beads can be lots of fun for a budgie, but can spell disaster for a parrot. Be careful of toys hung by chains and jingle-bell type bells. Toes and beeks can get stuck in them. Mirrors are fun for small birds, but larger birds could break them. Pieces of leather, rawhide dog chews, metal rings and small lava rocks are some of the favorite toys for larger birds.

Swings provide a wonderful source of entertainment for many birds. There are a large variety of different sizes available. These range from the simple plastic swing for canaries to the elaborate activity centers for larger birds.

How To Buy A Digital Camera Written By artofamy *sID

First you need to decide what you want to use the pictures for: family photos, scrapbooking, prints (4x6, 8x10 or larger), post to the web-okay photos of items for sale, etc.
Next you need to decide on a price range, something your gefortable with. Please keep this budget a bit loose, because you may decide a certain feature on a camera is worth the extra money.
Now what do you really need.
FAMILY PHOTOS * SCRAPBOOKING *ALL AROUND USE
If you never expect to make a print larger than an 8x10 than a 3 megapixel camera will be fine. You will even have a bit of wiggle room to make some minor crops for a 4x6. I regemendan LCD screen, not just a 'view finder' type. Also look for an optical zoom, 3x is good, The higher the number, the closer you can zoom in (for those zoo, soccor game, and performance shots when your far away from your subject).
Depending on your budget, you may want to consider a video camera. Most video cameras have a digital camera built right in. I personally have a Sony Handycam DCR-HC90 NTSC WIDE LCD, It is a video camera that also has a 3.0 megapixal digital camera built right in and it has a 10x optical zoom (most digital cameras optical zoomdoes not go that high for the money) AND you only have to learn 1 camera for both applications. An extra bonus is how mant times have you said - I wish I had a video of that...or I wish I could take that video and have a print of that, well you can with the video cameras of today. You can quicly swith from a video camera to the digital and vise versa, and you can even use software to grab a frame from your video and get a descent 4x6 out of it.
My first digital camera was a Sony, and I spent $999.00USD over 4 years ago and 7 years ago I spent $799.00USD on a Sony camcorder. I also bought an extended warrenty for each, and do not for get about accessories, camera bag, batteries, etc. Now for about the same money for one, I can get both and have the option to buy just 1 extended warrenty. And the accessories also goes as well, just one set of filters-I highly regemend a polarizer for those outside shots, 1 extra battery, etc. Also, if your are thinking that your digial camera can grab video, look a bit closer at the features, some are only grabbing 15 frames a second - half of video so it is choppy, and a friend' of mine their camera doesn't have a micrphone-so no sound with the video.
PHOTOS ON THE WEB * okay ITEMS
Well you do not need the megapixals for web only photos. A 2048x1536 pixel image is to big for the web (a 3.3 megapixal camera size), however, you may want some of those features that the megapixal cameras offer. Most digital cameras have settings that you can change to save a picture at less quality/file size (try 640x480 or 800x600, etc.), this will helpto save time when downloading and altering your images. I regemend a 2 or 3 megapixal camera to get some of the nice features, then just set up the camera to take the 640x480 size (or a bit larger) shotswhen taking pictures for the web.
OTHER APPLICATIONS *POSTERS
Well now your getting into the high end, and I suggest you do a lot more research than what I am able to cover in this guide. I am happy with my 3 megapixal camera, but I can make some generalizations about what I want (a wish list per say). 3.3 megapixals isn't enough for me, and 3x optical zoom is not enough. I bought a 2x lens for a total of 6x optical, well it is getting closer. I love the 10x optical zoom on the camcorder!!! Now I am waiting for the 9 or more megapixal camera that I can afford-with the 10x (16x) or more optical zoom. For me that would be the ultimate.
Why 9 megapixals you ask-well 6 megapixals is not actually doubling a 3 megapixal camera. In a 2 dimmensional print you have to double the length and double the width. In megapixals starting at 3 megapixals, then 3x2 (doubling the length) and then 3x2 (doubling the width) you need 3x3x3=9 megapixals.
EXAMPLE: 3 megapixals
* * *
* * *
* * *
Now to double both sides: 9 megapixals (3x2 across and 3x2 down)
* * * * * *
* * * * * *
* * * * * *
* * * * * *
* * * * * *
* * * * * *
Go to okays' guide here :
http://pages.okay.ge/buy/guides/digital-cameras-buying-guide/
Scroll down to 'Resolution'and look under the pictures of the eyes. A a better geparrison would look like this:
2 megapixels = 4x6 print
3 megapixels = 8x10 ? (TRY 5x7)
4 megapixels = 8x10 (best)
6 megapixals = 5x14 or 10x7 (doubling only one side of 3 megapixels- smaller than 11x14)
9 megapixals = 16x20 (using their 8x10 example, but closer to 10x14 in my example)
Of course I am printing out my prints at 300 DPI. You can print out at less Dots Per Inch, and yes I can tell a difference at less than 300 DPI. More DPI is harder to tell the difference.
When considering a digital camera, be flexible, on price and features. Start reading reviews about different cameras, how they work, are they easy to operate, and of course all of those many features. I have so many features on my old digital camera that I will never use, but I bought it based on optical zoom and megapixels, the 2 things you cannot change with software.
Remember the things you really need to consider is what is it for, what price range am I gefortable with, how many years will I use it, how many megapixels will I need, and what kind of zooming capabilities will I need.
Good Luck and happy bidding,
Amy Anderson

Proper Disclosure: The Right Thing to Do...

Proper Disclosure: The Right Thing to Do...
(and it may just help you develop a loyal customer base, too)

As makers of beaded jewellery selling on the internet, we have a duty to provide an
honest and geplete description of what we are selling. We have a duty, as well, to stand behind what we make. The old maxim the customer is always right ought to be engraved in granite to stand before the work table of everyone who ever strings a bead for profit.

People who misrepresent the nature of the geponents in their designs hurt their own business and all of our businesses. Anything that makes a customer suspicious is a detriment and should be avoided at all costs.

A prime example is the admittedly lovely, but ersatz, cherry quartz. There has been a great deal of buzz about the beading world that this is NOT in fact quartz at all, but glass. There are still beaders who, knowingly or not, bill it as the real deal. THAT is fraud.

We have a responsibility to our customers. They deserve to know what it is they are getting for their money. Is it real stone? Does it have the properties of real stone? Will it shatter easily, as glass will? The mother of small children will be justified in her concern; sell her what she thinks is stone, only to have her children injured on shards of shattered glass, and the maker may be looking at a lawsuit.

All right, perhaps that is a bit extreme. But how about letting the buyer know whether or not that quartz or chalcedony (or garnet or ruby) is dyed? Dyed stone tends to fade over time in sunlight, and may lead to a disappointed customer if she isnt forewarned.

New techniques such as colour-irradiation seem to make artificial colouring of stone permanent but the technology is SO new, we really dont know what will happen over the long haul. Honesty being the best policy, I think its wise to let the customer know WHY shes able to get (for instance) aquamarines that look that spectacular at such a low price.

It is also important to quantify for the customer the value of what they are buying. A $5 bracelet at a discount department store may be what she can afford at the moment, and that is fine. However, if it falls apart or she has a reaction to base metal, she might be more inclined to purchase a higher price-point item in the future. By clearly stating what she's getting for her money, you will help educate her and may even gain a repeat customer.

This leads to some fairly byzantine philosophical arguments as to how detailed one needs to be in revealing things to ones customer. Many (if not most) sellers of jewellry containing fire polished crystal refer to it simply as crystal. If one wants to bow to gemon usage, then that's okay. However, technically thats wrong, for firepolish contains no lead, so is not crystal at all, but glass. For the same reason, the crystal that is geing in from China is, in fact, faceted glass.

Now the Egyptian crystal were starting to see is fully-leaded and theres no argument about whether or not its really crystal but its manufactured on cutting-edge (pun intended) German machinery, and at least one major retailer is billing it as German crystal. Honest? Accurate? Well, the seller does explain in the fine print that the beads are really Egyptian, so I cant be too upset with them. Should YOU, in selling an item made with that crystal, also list it as German? How fine do you want to split that hair?

It is important to understand that it does not matter what "trade name" your supplier decides to use. "Trade names" are often misleading and it is ultimately your responsibility to do the research required. It's not a bad idea to let your suppliers know that you don't appreciate their use of misleading trade names, and ask that they properly identify what they are selling so that you may as well.

While it's true that we dont have to underscore every detail of every geponent in describing our wares, if were wise, well know the true nature of the beads and findings we use, and well pass on what we know to our customers. Well explain that new jade, mountain jade, and Malaysia jade arent even members of the jade family, but are, respectively, serpentine, dyed dolomite marble, and dyed quartz. Well differentiate between whats crystal and whats glass, and between whats contemporary and whats vintage. And if we find out after weve listed
something for sale on our websites that its not what we thought it was, well have the courage and integrity to change the description to match the facts.

For more information about proper disclosure when selling jewelry check the Federal Trade gemission website.

Christmas 1960 to Present: Under the Tree Decorations

In the 1960's Nativity Scenes or Creches were imported from Germany in
small quantities and from Italy. The Italien versions captured
the market toward the end of the 1950s because of their nice detail and
lower price than the German version. Some of the department
stores would sell the individual peices at very affordable
prices The Italien figures ranged in size from 3 in to 16 in and
the detailing was of high quality. During the 1960's the Santon
Figures from France started to begee of interest to collectors.
In 1960, an unbreakable acetate plastic set of 17 pieces was produced
by Hartland Plastics Inc. In the early part of the decade painted
village sets were imported from Japan. These village houses
included scalloped roof edges, balconies, sponge trees placed in front
of the houses and cellophane windows. During the middles of the
1960's a less expensive version was imported from Japan and by the end
of the decade the houses were made of cardboard and just painted.
Small sponge trees were placed off to the side and roofs were painted
white.

In the 1970's , Italy became the main importer of Creches. The
detail of the Italien imports out did those of German and
Japanese. Village Houses being placed under the tree declined,
but American and Japan continued to manufacture affordable sets.
Over 90 percent of the Houses purchased were manufactured in Japan.

In the 1980's Snow Baby figures became popular. Dept 56 began the
ever popular village collections with the Original Snow Village which
was fashion after the age old tradition of Putz scenes.

In the 1990s Germany began producing the elegant papier mache creche
figures. France's tradition of manufacturing dressed nativity
figures continued and became more popular each year. In 1994
Italy introduced the Fortanini Golden Edition Nativity the 14
peice set was limited to an edition of 2.500. In 1990 Dept 56
introduced The North Pole Series.

How to buy a Shellac UV Lamp

Not all Shellac UV Lamps are the same. First, to cure shellac you need at least at 36 watt UV Lamp. Pay a little extra for a lamp with built-in timer because curing your nails with the correct amount of time could mean the difference between beautiful shinny nails and dull tacky nails. Buy UV Lamps that have bulbs positioned to each side of the hand. Some UV Lamps only have lamps positioned above the hand and none to the sides of the hand. Lamps with bulbs on top could sometimes not cure the side curves of the nail bed because UV Light cannot shine directly to the sides of the nails. Having bulbs positioned to the sides of the hand allowsUV light to more directly shine on the sides of the nail bed and thus produce better curing ofShellac and Gels for better shiney nails. You get what you pay for in UV Lamps. The cheaper lamps have small power supplies. Imagine power supplies as the engine that drives the bulbs. If the power supply (engine) is weak then the bulbs don't produce theoptimum amount of UV light and thus don't provide as good curing gepared to a more powerful power supply. A more powerful power supply (engine) will drive the bulbs to produce more UV Light and thus provide moreluscious shiney nails. In addition, a more robust power supply willimprove longevity of bulbs.CND makes the best UV Lamp on the market. I have gepared dozens of brands and CND by far has the best power supply. CND has bulbs positioned to each side of thehand and on top of the hand. Overall fit and finish is top notch. Here is link toCND lamp in my store,

SAD and Full Spectrum Lighting

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is caused by the lack of proper light during Fall and Winter months. The darker days signal the brain to overproduce the hibernation hormone, melatonin. Also, without sunlight, the brain doesn't produce enough serotonin, which results in the symptoms of depression. Medical experts and researchers have documented the causes and symptoms of SAD for over twenty years.
Full Spectrum Light Bulbs gee asclose to man-made sunlight as is technologically possible. However, you must be sure you are buyingthecorrect FULL SPECTRUM bulbs. Bulbs that produce almost 1,600 lumens of full spectrum daylight, 5500 degree Kelvin and 90 CRI are the closet replication of natural sunlight available. Full Spectrum Bulb

The evolution of GM Tech 2, MDI

I have written several guides on scan tools and programming. I apologize in advance for the typos or mis-spellings. The spell check on okay really blows and they do not allow for cut and paste from Word. Im not an English teacher, I am a vehicle tech, so if you can look past the typos, there is some good information in here!
I have been asked to provide my background on the GM family of vehicles. Unfortunately for those of us who are in the high end diagnostics and flash programming game, the game is about to change for those of us who work on GM products. The way we do business and diagnose cars in the GM family has made the Tech 2 a dinosaur.
Before we begin, let me say that I will not be spending anytime on Tech 1 because, quite frankly, Tech 2 is still the flagship unit to this date and is backwards gepatable with OBD I. For you folks who want to stick with just OBD 1 applications and some very limited OBD 2 applications, you can get a Tech 1 on okay, but frankly, if your buying a well geplimented unit for more than 50 bucks, you had better be a BIG fan of that scan tool! I see people practically giving them away on Craig$ list.
Tech 2 has been around since the 80's. Its the quintessential hand held stand alone unit that, it its day, was well ahead of its time design and technology wise. It was extremely useful in the dealership environment, but back in the 80's, dreadfully under utilized. Its simple menu's and functionality made this unit the standard for everyone else. Problem was that as much as they tried, Chrysler and Ford simply didnt get it back than, based on the loads of diagnostic tools, cables, and junk those guys kept putting out. The Menu did not change from vehicle to vehicle, the functions were pretty much all in the same place for all car lines and the number of cables and crap that one needed to have to respond to different GM cars was minimal.
Tech 2 gives its user an unprecedented amount of information you simply cannot get from a generic scan tool. It provides its user a ton of PID information from any module on any GM family vehicle. You simply cannot get more information out of a GM product than with a Tech 2. In addition to the vast amount of information you can get out of a PCM or any other module on any GM car or truck, you get the ability to do service bay and bi-directional testing. This means that you can control solenoids, motors, actuators, gauges, lights, and a lot of other stuff right through the scan tool. This allows for the technician to be able to actuate many of these things to verify thier operation and support geponentry. With service bay tests one can perform fuel injector balance tests, ABS HCU service bleeds, EVAP testing and many more important functions. Finally, if you want to flash program any module on a GM, a Tech 2 will give you several methods.

Stand alone - here you simply turn on your Tech 2, request vin information through the SPS function on the menu, than unhook your scanner from the vehicle, take it to your PC, and either log onto TIS on WEB to download flash programming, or you can hook onto your PC, and download the flash programming from your TIS program that you load onto your PC. Than you simply unhook the scan tool and take it back to the car, hook it back up to the ALDL and dump the programming onto the module you wish to program.
Pass thru - her you can hook your geputer to your Tech 2 using a serial port to CAT5 cable (generic adaptors wont work, it has to be configured specifically for GM diagnostics, data recorders, or TPMS units) than hook your Tech 2 to the the vehicle ALDL connector, open the TIS program, and flash directly from your PC to your module. Now you USED to be able to do this wtih TIS to WEB but it looks like they have disabled the function that allows pass thru programing via TIS to WEB directly to the controller through the Tech 2. Why they did this has begee a little bit of a debate among my associates and myself. Many think its because GM has begun the changeover to the newer diagnostic and re-flash platform that no one (not even most dealerships) seems to have. Some think its because too many controllers are being wiped out by service interuptions via the internet. If a controller is being flashed and it is inturrupted in any way, it, for all intent and purpose, begees junk unless you have access to dealership reset codes called VCI numbers. Good luck getting one of those outside the dealership! Hell, good luck getting one INSIDE a GM dealership!
Some Tech 2 PCM programing tips:
PCM's
Now even with the differant modes of programing some modules, there are some variations on doing functions like programing Body Control Modules (BCM's)and doing security re-learns. Although many modules on a car are programable, and RE-programable, many Body Modules in OBD 2 GM cars are not programablelike engine controllers are.
Engine controllers, dashboard controllers, ABS controllers and several others can be programmed and re-programmed. Many people have said to me over the years, including dealership tech's that GM PCM's cannot be re-programmed once they have a VIN number inside them. Nothing could be farther from the truth! Of course, I am sure they would love to have you believe that because they sell controllers. 90% of all GM PCM's simply need to be treated as though they were brand new when being installed from another car. The only real differance is that when the vin number varification box pops up, it will have the VIN number from the old module in there. When the program display's that, along with the prompt "is this the correct VIN number?" Simply hit the NO response and type in the VIN number you want. This will push the new VIN into the controller. Keep in mind that once you install a used controller in a car and hook up the battery, the security system will see another VIN number and throw the vehicle into theft lock. This is easily fixed wtih a simple security re-learn if you have a Tech 2 and a copy of TIS. Many generic pass thru units will also have the abiltiy to do a security re-learn as well.
BCM's
On most GM Body Controle Modules, you have to manually enter a VIN number with the Tech 2 Keypad, than select the optional and standard equipment that you want to operate. For instance, if you have an Impala with optional driving lights, you will have to activate that function when programing and setting up a new BCM. The bad news is that, unlike many factory PCM's most factory equipped BCM's are locked up and cannot be given a new VIN number making used GM BCM's worthless. Once you do get a new one, you can establish settings, and even a point of sale to record for future refrence within the BCM with the Tech 2.
There are some items out here on okay that allow for the erasure of a used BCM or any other module for that matter. They are generic geputer cards that, for the most part, are designed to erase pretty much any module out there. If you have any background or knowledge on erasing these types of modules like GM BCM's or Ford Air bag modules, I would sure love to hear from you! As you will read in some of my other postings, I LOVE to trade resources to fellow technicians and I have A LOT of great resources for programing on a lot of vheicles.
SECURITY RE-LEARN
As for security re-learns, many GM vehicles do not even require a tech 2 to re-program a pass key modlue. There is a procedure where you manipulate the key to the KOEO postion and turn it off a few times and you can re-learn a pass key system. With Tech 2 the procedure is a little easier and faster as you can simply hook up your Tech 2, link it to TIS and do a relearn in about 10 minutes through SPS. There are some GM vehicles that MUST be done with the KOEO process as the security re-learn function just does not exist in Tech 2 programming.
***A note for you guys using Pass thru units for security re-learns: Most generic pass thru units WILL NOT do security re-learns even with TIS on Disc or TIS on WEB. Particularly, single wire CAN vehicles and a few OBD II's simply wont work with geneirc pass thru units. Consider that the federal government only requires access to PCM, and TCM units to the general public. Anyting else is just a bonus. This is why a Tech 2 is so much better than a pass thru. You cant program most BCM's on GM with a generic pass thru nor can you do a lot of security re-learns.
Tech 2 Memory Cards
Memory card issues are also a consideration for Tech 2 units. The standard is a 32 Megabite PCMCIA style card that slides into one of the two slots on the top of the Tech 2 head unit. This card holds all your diagnostic information and updates, and also has room for flashes you will need to transfer to the vehicle your working on. Earlier units had 10 megabite cards, but there is almost NO GM program updates that will fit on such a small memory. Even legacy programs for Saab, Suzuki, Toyota, and Isuzu require at least a 32 megabite card. Very few applications will fit on a 10 Mb card. Lots of folks, however, use a 10Mb card in the second slot for data logging and storage of freeze framd data so dont throw your 10Mb card out just yet.

Verizon has told us that if the phone is taken into a store that supports "Software Upgrading" then they MAY be able to get these features of the phone working. We state in our description that these features may not be available As of March 25th, 2011 and to check with Verizon prior to purchasing the phone if these features are important to you.

Ramsond Generator

If you are thinking of buying a Ramsond generator please burn your money instead at least you will get heat out of it. I bought a 6500 elite it is junk. It burnt up after the first 4hrs of use. Then they would not even send me the replacement parts because they said it was over a year old. It was mind you over a year old but had only been used 4hrs. They are selling these under other name as well so check it all out before you buy one.

HOW TO SURVIVE IN THIS TOUGH LIFE - THE RIGHT ATTITUDE

In todays tough economy, many people are searching for answers to survive in such a tough life. This Guide focuses on the right attitude to have, such attitude you can discover too. At any level, having the right attitude can save everything. If your ingee level has changed, that is now history. If youfeel your ingee levelshould change again, you will find something useful in this Guide.
First, let me tell you something. This Guide is not intended to demolish you or to conduct you to drastic changes in your life like what we hear too often.. ''Sell your car.. Sell your house.. Pay all your debts.. Pay your credit cards.. Think bankruptcy..''
All these fast and easy solutions are very easy to write but in reality do not gives you any real options. How a writercan tell people to pay their debts knowing their ingee level falled down??
Here are some straight facts:
Sooner or later, things are going to be better.Everything going down will go up again.Do not count on social programs to save you.The way they cut on social programs is not ofgood hope for the future.Do not wish to win a jackpot on lottery tickets. In fact, you are a part of their jackpot when spending your money on this. Do not regret any decision you took in the past. This is now part of the history. Never blame yourself for what is happening now. You did what you had to do,even if some events went out of your control. Always think big, remember the sunshine will be there tomorrow. Do not share your future projects with anyone. The key to succeed start with you only, so many people lost their last and unique chance by sharing it and get copied fast.
What means ''attitude'' ?
The attitude we have means a lot. A lot more than what you may think. In fact, everything is in the attitude. The attitude is a way to think, to talk, to work and to listen. You actual attitude can determine what you will be in the next days, in the next months and in the next years to gee. Some people keep the same attitude for years, nothing changed in their life because of this. On the opposite, many people who already changed their attitude enjoy a new life, proportionated to their new attitude. In business, attitude is very important also. As an example, the best chocolate tablet in the world will never sell if not properly wrapped.
Startyour positive attitude now!
Start now. How many times did you hear this. Most people want to start now but do not know how. I will share some tips on how to survive this tough economy. You have to start somewhere in life. This is like when a business launch a new price list: it is always written ''Destroy all the preceeding prices''. Keep in mind that you are as good as anyone else to do anything. In fact, you can be the best one with some basic ingredients mixed with your background ! You have to be ready to change things. If you are not ready yet, you already made a good move by introducing yourself in this Guide. Print it for future reference or to share it, it can serves someone else who is ready to start now.
Going back to the basics !
Imagine now that we are in a total power outage that will last exactly one week. You cannot spend any money, the cash registers at the grocery store are not working. You cannot withdraw any money at the ATM machine, there is no power. If you own a car, you will use it wisely because the gas station pumps works on electricity. For the next day, you will eat what is in the fridge not to lose anything. On the next few days, you will think. You will think a lot. What to eat, what to prepare without power.. Canned meats or vegetables.. Cereals.. After all, this power outage will last only 7 days.. Such an issue will motivate you to explore each avenue to last up to the last day of this power outage. If nothing else is available to eat on the very last day except for a bag of potato chips, it will be on your menu.
By this example, I want to demonstrate you that we can acgeodate of a few basic things in this life. We spend too much! Try to buy only the things you need.Very oftenwe buy so many things we don't really need. Use cold water to do your laundry. The savings are not immediate but it is a part of your restructuration. Stop spending money for all these extras. Buying a coffee in the morning and the newspaper or a $5 quick snack at noon cost a lot of money at the end of the week, annually, it is catastrophic! Do not borrow money. This is a bad habit that you should quit as soon as possible. Before doing your next grocery, try to see what is on special. If you do not have coupons, many grocery stores let you print them on their website. Try to make a list of what you need and ALWAYS ask yourself the magic question: ''Do we really need this?''Never make a grocery list when your stomach is empty. This way the list will be shorter. Grocery flyers are illusion. Their professional marketers takes big and nice pictures of what they offer. In reality, their gepetitors often offer the same stuff at a lower price.
How to keep the life you already have in place
Be sure that when things get hard, it can be a tough time for everyone. If you know how to handle a few basic things, you will have a better chance to keep your actual life without disturbing it. Instead of making a budget, try to eliminate a few expenses on that budget, even on a temporary basis. Cut your shopping down, you will have to trim down anything which is not absolutely necessary. Install a small box in the kitchen and put all your small change in it. Quarters, dimes, nickels being out of your pocket will not tempt you to buy all these coffees and things you don't really need. Is that cellphone really useful ? A ''pay-by-the-minute'' cellphonesaves a lot of money gepared to a fixed $40 or $50 fixed monthly expense. Cut that power when not needed. Waste of energy is something very easy to control: put the switch at off when necessary. By doing a lot of small savings here and there, you will be surprised how much you can save in only one month. Do not plan big expenses at this time. If you plan to buy new furniture or a new car, stop shopping and try to see if you can last a few months with what you have actually. Try to cook instead of eating in restaurants. Do it for a few months to save a bundle.
Believe in yourself !
Success will happen ONLY after you believed in yourself. First, explore new avenues. Would you be able to do a second job on evenings or weekends? Starting a side business is an effective way to start pulling in some extra money. Try to find something that can match your skills. From babysitting to woodworking, all these side ingees added to your savings can reverse your actual situation. Sell the things you don't need anymore on okay! Some huge fortunes are laying around you. Considering selling things you don't need anymore will bring in extra money. A general clean up will allow you to discover that everything around you worth something. Start nowto makea geplete inventory of CD's, DVD's, books, clothes, collections, etc... All this extra money ingee can pay some debts. By saving on one side and selling things on the other side, you willimprove your actual situation day after day. And you will like it! Success is a habit and so is defeat!
Think Big !
I can tell you one thing: You deserve the best! For this reason, you will follow this Guide to give you a chance. After all, nothing can be untrue unless you give it a try. After selling a few things, you may want to sell again. This is correct. This can lead to visit garage sales, flea markets or simply classified ads. A small investment can generate interesting ingees. Producing things at home like woodworking or clothing can generate sales also on okay. Take the time to explore your skills. Thinking a lot is the basic. You never know when a new idea will hit you. This idea can change the rest of your life. NEVER under-estimatea new idea. You never know where it can lead.Take every side opportunity you can. If you pay close attention, there are all sorts of real money opportunities around you. Do it if you are offered to help and get paid for. Do it also if you find free metal, you will sell it at high price at a local metal recycler: it takes 5 minutes, they put it on a scale and pay you cash. Older people always need someone to clean windows and are willing to pay. Painting an appartment or a roomcan get you in business fast, even part time. All these people will spread the news fast. There is no dead-end into self employment, people will be always in the need of workers.
Stop to be a consumer, be a producer !
This is all of it. If you consume bigger than you produce, you are in trouble. Reverse the situation and start to produce. You can produce services orgoods. The day you will produce more than you consume, you will be out of trouble. By producing services or goods, or both, you will generate extra ingees to cover largely your expenses. The balance will be on your side. When they started selling bread making machines years ago, I found there was a message in this. What we spend to buy one bread equals to what we would spend to make 7 breads with such a machine. I am in the sewing machine business. This is exactly the same.
Please remember that you deserve the best !!!
Thank you so much for your time,
Sincerely, Andre (alcnational)

IN THE BEGINNING - -History of Naber Kids dolls

Many of the collectors and people who have purchased the beloved Naber Kids from me on e-bay, have asked me so many questions that I feel I need to copy this information from Mr. Naber's newsletter of October 1996, Volume 5, Number 10.It all started in 1970 when H. P. Naber owned the store "Fur Tranders"on 831 4th Avenue in Anchorage Alaska. The very first creation was 'Big Nuni' of the gepany called 'Nunivak Doll' and sold under the name of Fur Traders after the store H.P. and wife Betty Jo owned in Anchorage. There he began to carve the first dolls for his gepany later called 'Nuni Doll gepany'.Why, you ask did he call his first gepany Nuni? Mr. Naber's original dolls were actually called "Nunivak Dolls' after the Nunivak Island in the Bering Sea. You see, initially H.P. used a lot of reindeer fur for outfits on the original dolls. (There he mainly sold to the tourists.) The fur he used came from the reindeer on this island, where a large herd was known to live. Local Eskimos ate the reindeer meat, (known as Alaskan Caribou), but they had no use for the reindeer fur. The reindeer's fur was hollow and would break off when worn, therefore, not suitable for making any kind of clothing or mukluks. These furs were tanned in Seattle, near to where H.P. carved his dolls, enabling him to easily purchase it for costumes. So in honor of the reindeer of the Nunivak Island, Mr. Naber named his gepany and dolls "Nunivak". Soon the residents of the island expressed objection for this naming since the dolls were not made on the island, Mr Naber named his gepany and dolls.'Nuni' respecting their wishes. during this time H. P. Naber produced #1001- Big Nuni #1 in 1970, #1002- Big nuni #2 in 1971, #1003 Big Walli #1 in 1971 #1004 - Lucky Billy in 1971,#1005 - Little Nuni in 1972 and #1006 - Eskimo face masks in 1972 under the Nunivak name. Then soon thereafter he quickly outgrew the space at Fur Traders and moved to another location. This was on International Airport Road in Ankerage and set up small factory. The dolls made then were #1007 - Tami in 1973, #1008 - Silly Sally #1 in 1973, #1009 - Silly Sally #2 and #1010 - Silly Sally #3 in 1973, #1011 - Chechako in 1974, #1012Sourdough in 1974, #1013 - Eskimo Yo Yo in 1974, #1014 - Zipper doll in 1975, #1015 - Little Wali in 1975, #1016 - Tom in 1974 and #1017 - Sally in 1974. Tom and Sally were the last made under the Nuni Doll gepany name. This gepany was later sold to Mr. William Lee who owned a gepany called Kiana which made totem poles out of the similar resin solution Mr. Naber's doll parts were made of. As a matter of fact later Mr. Lee's gepany even made some of the doll parts for H.P. Mr. Lee decided to make H. P. an offer to buy the Nuni Doll gepany. In 1975 H. P. agreed and signed a non gepetition agreement, not to make any dolls for 5 years. That was fine with H. P. since he wanted to stop making dolls for a while and see the rest of the lower United States. He sold the gepany, packed up his family and moved to Florida where he bought a hotel in Cedar Key called the Island Hotel, built in l837. One of the oldest hotels in the State of Florida. They did very well and learned much about the business, mostly that they never want to own one again and would rather be a guest. Cedar Key was a great experience until 1979 when the Nabers decided to move back to Alaska. Since the 5 years were up and H. P. could now happily go back to making dolls again. It was in 1980 that H.P. started the new Naber Doll gepany. When the 5 years were up and the Naber family moved back to Alaska, H.P. didn't have a place to do any carving of dolls. He set up show in the garage of his friend Bart Eisner, a house painter who allowed H.P. to work there while he was at work painting houses. H.P. set up his tools and carving there and began to produce various dolls and Sillikins. These were each carved one at a time because H.P. had no way to reproduce them yet. The process was slow but he was able to make 3 to 4 dolls a day. His wife Betty Jo would make the outfits and would peddle them at ski resorts and tourists areas. This was the hard way back from the bottom up. Many people own these dolls, especially Barts wife who has quite a few of them. The wood used was yellow cedar but that made these carvings very dark. After carving they were varnished and it was the varnish on the yellow cedar that made them that dark. Their hair was carved because burlap was not yet available. The costumes were mostly Eskimo parkas and each signed on the back of neck. Also, interestingly enough most were girls. They had not been named at that time and are therefore extremely rare. They are not even listed on the Naber doll history lists. These were made from 1979 to 1980 and approximately 20 to 30 were carved, but actual count was never kept. The first named and numbered dolls started at the Naber doll gepany were #2001 - Lilli in 1979, #2002-Lalli in 1979, #2003 - Leni in 1979, and #2004 - Loni in 1979 began on Denali Street in Anchorage, Alaska in 1980 when H. P. Just got back from Cedar Key, Florida. These were actually designed in 1979 and began to market them in the early 80's. The next were #2005-Billy Face in 1980 #2006 through #2008

PLATINUM REFINING FROM CATALYTIC CATALYCTIC CONVERTERS

NOTE: Below is the formulafor recovery of platinum group metals and rhenium from materials using halogen reagents. This guide is intended for small size and expanding cat scrappers that want to take their operation to the next level. This process is not easy, and if your looking for a dummies guide look somewhere else, as I do not want to be responsible for anything that goes wrong. First off I would like to point out that this is extremely dangerous, and should only be performed under optimal conidtions. The formula below is the basics. If you have refined other precious metals in the past and are familar with processing and gepunds, you should find this relatively easy to decipher.
To my entrepreneur friends:
So you wanna learn how to refine platinum and other precious metals from cats.. Well if you found your way here, I must admit I do admire the ambition. Ambition and drive alone will not get you far.. You need a bank roll to refine precious metals. This process can be very hazardous and should not be attempted in someone's backyard, buy a lab or something. JUST KIDDING. Seriously though the guide below may appear overwhelming, but do not be discouraged, it should be unless you have a degree in chemistry. Spendtime and readbooks about precious metal refining, familiarize yourself with the chemicals and process'. And please do not go through with this unless you have a bank roll, and a secure cheap source of cats. The chemicals will set you back, you need mass quantity of cats to work with to turn a profit. As you probably already know this is fairly underground, and when you start asking questions in forums and what not about the refining process, no one know's or wants to play ball. Or you get the core buyer that just want's to buy your cats and notshare their secrets. Can you really blame them? There is still much money to be made in this field, and if you play your cards right you can cash in as well. Readthis guide to the dot, and persue related material. Be safe...GOOD LUCK :)

Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention is directed to a method for recovering precious metals such as platinum, palladium, rhodium, gold and rhenium using a leaching solution geprising allergen salts and sulfuric acid and/or ammonium salts.
BACKGROUND ART
Platinum group metals (PGM: platinum, iridium, osmium, palladium, rhodium, and ruthenium) are regarded as strategic metals. These metals are used by various industries in multiple ways including automobile, electrical and electronic, dental and medical, petroleum refining and numerous chemical industries. The major source of the platinum group metals is frequently associated with Cu-Ni deposits. These metals usually occur in conjunction with nonferrous metal sulfide ores. Another source of PGM which is begeing important, especially in the U.S., is the secondary source; namely, scrap of ceramics/glass, electrical geponents, and spent catalysts.
About 30 million automobiles are scrapped worldwide every year, of which more than 15 million automobiles are junked in the U.S. There are, in general, three grades of automobile catalytic converters in terms of the PGM content. Grade 1 consists of 1200 ppm of Pt, 200 ppm of Pd and 300 ppm Rh; Grade 2 consists of 1000 ppm of Pt, 200 ppm of Pd, and 100 ppm of Rh; while Grade 3 consists of 875 ppm of Pt, 250 ppm Pd and 30 ppm of Rh. On the other hand, petroleum refinery catalyst, typically contain about 3,000 ppm of platinum and 2,600 ppm of rhenium. The petroleum industry consumes about 5% of the total platinum and 30% of the total rhenium demand in the U.S.
PGM are traditionally recovered by aqua regia, HCI/HNO3 or HCI/Cl2. Because platinum-group metals are very inert, their extraction is very expensive. For example, the extraction of these metals from automobile catalysts is known to be notoriously expensive because of the high cost associated with reagent consumption. The methods used to process these metals tend to dissolve even silica and alumina, which are frequently the base matrix of platinum-group metals. As a result, the process suffers from high acid consumption and severe acid corrosion problems. Recently, researchers at the U.S. Bureau of Mines have developed a hydrometallurgical process where cyanide is used in an autoclave at high temperatures and pressures. Although the metallurgical efficiency of this process is reasonably good, it suffers from the disadvantage of using toxic cyanide as the major reagent and low recovery of rhodium. Furthermore, this process also suffers from high reagent consumption.

Easy Sniping With ss New Screen Format

Easy Sniping With okays New Screen Format*Sniping is the act of placing a high bid in the closing seconds of an auction-style listing to maximize ones chances of winning. It acgeplishes this by begeing an extreme late bid and thereby making it difficult, or impossible, for further bids to be place before the listing closes. Of course, in order to win the snipe has to be the ultimate high bid, not just the last bid.The advantage this sniping technique has over the more conventional snipe techniques is in its simplicity in obtaining precision snipes. You don't have to use an external clock or watch, and you aren't required to keep hitting 'refresh' to obtain the time left in the auction. In the past when you were going to snipe, you had to know exactly when an auction will end and you needed a clock synchronized to okay's time. Now that okay provides a countdown clock on the listing, all this is no longer needed when using their new listing form. First you should sign into okay. Then you need to open two browsers, each selected to the listing you want to snipe. Now lets proceed.1. Configure you monitors screen so that each browser is re-sized to fill half the screen. In this manner you will be able to see both browsers screen at the same time, i.e. one on the left and another on the right. Notice that each browser has a functioning Time left countdown clock.2. Determine the bid value that represents the highest amount you are willing to pay for the item. Give consideration to this bid, since you will be making this your one and only bid.3. In one of your browsers, lets say the left one, place your bid value in the "Your max bid" box. Click the "Place Bid" button. You will see that a white Review and confirm your bid box is superimposed on your left screen. Don't do anything else at this time to this page.4. You will note that the superimposed white boxs Time left function is replaced with an End date and is no longer counting down. However, the browser on the right countdown clock is still running correctly.5. Watch that clock as it approaches the auctions closing time. When the time gets to when you are gefortable in placing your bid, click the "Confirm Bid" button on the "Review and Confirm Bid" screen. Since the receipt of your bid by okay may take a second or more, depending on your web connection speed, take that lag into consideration when confirming your bid. Congratulations, you just sniped the auction with seconds or less prior to the auction's closing. * If you aren't using the new format, go here: http://reviews.okay.ge/How-to-Snipe-the-Easy-Way_W0QQugidZ10000000001623470

Pearl Jewelry Glossary

I hope you find all the useful information about pearl glossary in here. Please let me know if there are any terms you would like to see added and I'll include them.Abalone Pearl - Abalone pearls are natural pearls found in the gastropod mollusk Haliotis. The pearls are most often an iridescent blue color and the most gemon shape is the horn. Although abalone pearls are highly desirable and widely sought after, culturing these gems has been a very difficult venture. Therefore, abalone pearls are some of the rarest pearls and considered by many to be some of the most beautiful pearls in the world. Akoya Pearl - A type of saltwater cultured pearl, grown primarily in cooler water off the coasts of Japan and China. Oyster species that produce Akoya pearls include Pinctada fucataPinctada martensi. Akoya looks similar to the Freshwater pearl. Akoya pearls are on average larger, smoother, rounder, and more lustrous than Freshwater pearls. Awabi Pearl - Japanese name for abalone pearls.Baroque - Any irregularly-shaped pearl. Baroque pearls are valued for their one-of-a-kind, unusual shapes.Biwa Pearl - Cultured freshwater pearls grown in a mussel that lives in Lake Biwa, Japan. Now this term is used on all stick-shaped pearls.

FAKE Sciphones

I spent quite some time on okay.ge to figure out how I could possibly find a "genuine" Sciphone i68+ before I have it actually in my hands and can dial *#8375# and then check the output. From the pictures in the listings you quite often do not see the identification points.- Start up with Sciphone Logo (can only be checked when you have the phone)- Battery marked Sciphone and NOT Aphone - look for clear pictures - when cut off and not visible be careful- Two IMEI numbers- SCI stickers as well as Sciphone written inside, etc- LS- or SCI- (REAL) and maybe now ITOUCH680 which I cannot really confirm right now..I will keep you updated on that. My phone is on the wayThe text I realized is quite often not really matching the pictures. Non of the above is visible. The pics showed a FAKE but if you do not know what to look for, how can you tell? . Also I realized that many people found out after they already gave the sellers a positive feedback that they ended up with a FAKE. So feedback rating does not mean anything. 99% positiv but selling FAKE Sciphones.(also I realized that the dimensions of the FAKE and the genuine Sciphone are NOT the same and whenever it is mentioned geMERCIAL batteries it is mainly batteries with Chinese characters other criteria do generally also not match - be carful.Be careful with PX-XS...MAUI..SKY..etc series..most likely not original Sciphone..this is OK if not mentionned "genuine" or "original" but I saw a few sellers which advertised "original" Sciphone and did not meet any of the above mentioned identification criterias. I am writing this guide only for buyers who do want to buy a genuine Sciphone. So my regemendation would be to copy the output i.e. TOUCHI860- BUILD 2009/05/31 18.29 instead of just say perfect - fast shipping. Like this the FAKE sellers could be identified much easier ..If you are happy with the phone and do not care if you got a "clone" or a "clone of a clone".. it should be positive but with this information everybody can decide to whether they want to buy it or not and could probably see what they would get. Be also very careful if the okay seller are putting the items as private, because like this you cannot see what has been sold and what the positiv feedback was for. If a seller is selling genuine merchandise why should he hide the items purchased? When asking for this kind of information from most sellers, I did not get any reply at all. Two sellers were honest enough even advertised as "original" that they would definitely not sell the version I was looking for. Three sellers confirmed the version 3.0a and promised me to get an authentic one. Another one even sent me pictures and advised me what to look for, which was very honest. And some told me when asking for the output LS- SCI- etc to stay away from buying...this was pretty clear to me that another seller which does not sell original but advertises original...it is just a nightmare on okay.ge....So I went ahead and will see what I will get and will place the output on the phone on the sellers okay feedback. You can make your decision if you feel it genuine enough. There is never a 100% guarantee but maybe you can eliminate quite a few sellers or get them to adverise it properly.

How To Make Your Own Scrapbook Idea Books

Whether a beginner or seasoned scrapbooker, we all love to draw new inspiration from magazines, idea books, and (of course) DIY! Like me, you may have toppling piles of Creating Keepsakes and Scrap

10 SELLING TIPS FOR BEGINNERS

This quick guide is designed to help Beginners to sell on okay. Please any feedback on this will be appreciated.
1. Be Honest in Your description. Don't try selling outrageous claims.
2. Know Your Merchandise. I mostly sell Russian cds and books because that is what I know and love.
3. Set realistic goals. Unless your gepany is a multi-million dollar a year business you are NOT going to make $200,000 in a year. Start small and work your way up. I always set goals for every aspect of my okay business. How much money I desire to make each week, month, etc, How many positives I desire per week, month, etc. Goals help you to stay focused.
4. Don't leave feedback until your buyer is satisfied with their purchase and leave you feedback. When I first started I made the mistake of leaving positive feedback for a buyer without checking to see if the guy had paid for his purchase. I assumed that he did because he left me positive feedback. After checking my auctions that had ended I found out that he had not paid and contacted him. He gave some lame excuse (Paypal account did not work). I had put in my description the buyer could send payment by mail. He never contacted me back. I learned from that mistake. I am a strong believer in what goes around gees around. (You reap what you sow, Karma). So always check before leaving feedback.
5. Sell What people want to Buy.
6. Take good photos. For most items like video games, cds, dvds, books, etc.. okay has photos already for most English products. I used those until I was able to buy a digital camera. People want to see what they are buying. Make sure you take good photos.
7. Get orders out promptly. I go to the post office three times a week. I always make sure to get my customer their orders out in a short order of time.
8. Do Not Sell What is NOT in Your Possession. 2 Years ago a business associate of mine was selling bulk cds on okay. This person had over 1,000 positives and was well on her way to being a Powerseller, which was a goal of hers. Unfortunately she ran into some dishonest, impatient buyers who would receive their product in the time stated in her descriptions, but still left negative feedback and had Paypal refund their money. this ruined her business and now she does not sell anymore. SELLERS: if you use a dropshipper, make sure to get a gepany that delivers fast. Make sure you be specific in your descriptions that the product may take up to 4 weeks to deliver. Safe guard yourself against dishonest buyers.
9, Never stop looking for product to sell. Even though I mainly sell Russian cds/books, ebooks, cd-roms, and boxtops for education. I am always on the lookout for new product to add. Since starting selling fulltime on okay I have added: dvds, video games, sportscards, geic books, and cassette tapes to my line of items to sell. Check out those resell shops, garage sells, etc for cheap product. Look for wholesalers to purchase from. The opportunities are there.

Digital Photography techniques

This is a guide to help the average person to take better digital photos using their digital camera. Here is a sample image I took of a Passion flower using a Canon PowerShot A75 camera...1. Choose the right equipment - The most important part is to pick a camera that matches your task. For most applications, a point and shoot camera is sufficient. Unless you are going to blowup your prints greater than 8x10 inches, you probably won't need a camera greater than 3 or 4 Mega pixels. In fact, the larger resolution may hurt in that you are saving more data than necessary, slows down transfer time, result in a poorer quality image if not processed properly and it costs more. A camera with a good "hold" and easy-to-use buttons will be far better than a slick, thin design. For example, the Canon PowerShot A75, is a good design an it is only 3 Mega pixels and it has a long battery life. Do use rechargeable battery to save money.2. Difference with traditional camera - The main difference in the operations of a digital camera vs. a traditional camera is that the digital camera has both a shooting mode and a display mode where as traditional camera only has a shoot mode. In the digital camera case, some control switches and buttons are shared between the two modes of operatoion. The display mode allows you to review the images right after you shoot. This is a great advantage over traditional camera allowing you to re-take a shot if it turns out bad (example - when someone's eye is closed). You can also experiment and delete the bad shots without any waste of film or money.3. Shooting modes - Most automatic cameras gee with various shooting modes. In most cases, the "Auto" mode is the best for 70% of all shots. This is the equivalent of the point-and-shoot camera. Next, there is a "Programmable" mode which will allow for some limited overrides. They may or may not be a Manual" mode which allows for the most flexibility. There may also be an "Action" mode for shooting moving objects. I will address each usage in detail below.4. Lighting - The key to taking good pictures is related in most cases to proper lighting. In digital photography, you want to avoid taking shots which include bright light sources or hot spots or shoot into the direction of sunlight. The reason is that digital camera has a tendency to "bloom" around bright objects. Any object that is bright or white will cause the sensor elements to saturate and then bleed to the surrounding areas. In sunlight, make sure the sun is behind you or to the sides. If you must shoot against the sum, make sure the flash is forced "on". This will avoid people or objects in the foreground appearing too dark. Even though the overall lighting is bright enough, you still need extra flash light to brighten up your subject. To do this, you will need to switch to the "Programmable" mode and turn the flash setting "on". In room light, most digital camera will work without flash. If the room is too dim, it may affect the operation of the auto-focus mechanism. In some cases, if the room is bright enough, you can disable the flash to avoid over exposure. This may also be the case if you are shooting something close-up. Finally, night photography is tricky. Most cameras will not work too well in the dark. You can use the flash but make sure objects are within the regemended distances (between 4-10 feet). Any closer will cause the subject to be too bright, and any further will cause the subject to be too dark. This is just the limitation of the camera.5. Auto-focus - As I mentioned earlier, for most shots, the auto mechanism will work just fine. The one thing to know about auto-focus is that there is a slight pause just before taking your shot. To avoid this pause, you can push the button down half way to activate the auto-focus and then push all the way down when you are ready to take the shot. This is also a good way to gepose your shot (especially if you are shooting a person or object off center against a background scene). This will insure that your subject will stay in-focus. Also, in some cameras, there may be a longer delay after you take a shot before you can take another shot. This is the time the camera needs to store away the data before you can take a follow-on shot. The more expensive professional digital cameras will allow you to take one shot after another. 6. Action Shots - For taking objects in motion (on if you are moving in a car), there is a special mode "Action" mode that will allow you to get the sharp picture and avoid a blurring effect. 7. Zoom Photography - Most cameras gee with both an optical zoom and a digital zoom. In the case of the Canon PowerShot, it has a 3X optical and a 10X digital zoom. The optical zoom is the more important feature. It is using the physics of the lens to create the zoom (like a telescope). It is a true zoom and it will allow you to shoot objects that are further away. The 3X means that you can get up to 3 times closer. The digital zoom is not a true zoom. It is using image processing in the software to create an illusion of larger objects. It results in a pooreer quality image. I do not regemend using the digital zoom for most shots.8. geposition - Artistic geposition is one of the rare skill that is hard to teach and pass on. With practice and experience, you will be able to discern what is a good geposition for a particular scene. One major decision is to take a shot in "portrait" or "landscape" format. The thing to remember is to match the format to the central object in your scene. For example, if you are shooting a person standing up, it is beter to use the portrait format. If you are shooting just the head and shoulder, the landscape format may be better. 9. Macro Photography - This is the special case where you want to shoot an object up close such as a flower. The camera has a special button for this and it is usually a symbol of a flower. If you are shooting an object less than a foot or two away, you need to enable this or else your image will appear out of focus. It is also a good idea to disable the flash because you don't want the auto-flash to kick in. Another good use of this feature is to shoot old photographs from your album. All you need is a flat glass plate and some diffused light source. You can make a good reproduction of an old photograph using the macro setting. This is especially good if you want to digitize your old photo album and put it online such as for a family tree. You can also use thisd technique to shoot yopur own original artwork. For really special cases, you might want to use the "Manual" mode and this will allow you to control both the f-stop of the lens and the shutter speed. The f-stop and the shutter speed work in tandem to produce the "right" exposure. A low f-stop number will require a fast shutter speed. This will work well with objects that are moving. A high f-stop number will require a slower shutter speed and this will provide a good "depth of field" keeping most items in your scene sharp. Most images will be shot at somewhat in between depending how the "automatic" mode is programmed at the factory. You might want to experiment with your own f-stop and shutter speed to create special effects and for low light or night scenes. Some gemon mistakes and how to avoid them:1. Shoot mirrors and glass at right angle will cause hot spots and excessive glare. Take shots at 45 degree angle to all shining or reflecting surfaces.2. Over exposure (blooming) due to sunlight or hotspot in the picture. Avoid shooting direct lighting or hotspots.3. The image is blurred. Either due to motion of the subject or the camera. Use the "action" mode to shoot this scene.4. The faces in your photo are too dark. Use the "programmable" mode and force the flash "on". 5. The people in your flash photo has "red eyes". Set the "red eye reduction" feature to the "on" position. 6. Your flash photos appear too bright or too dark. Make sure you are taking the scene with the correct distance.7. The people appears too small in you photo. Keep your subjects in the foreground and to the side and make the scene your background. Here is a jig that I made out of wood and glass. It is used to make reproductions of old photographs. Here is a geparison of the original digital photo followed by a reproduction made from shooting a print of the original using my jig. Just relax and enjoy taking photos. Your skill will improve with practice and experience. Good luck.Additional resources:A Squidoo lens on Digital Cameras and Photography - http://www.squidoo.ge/Digital-Cameras-and-Photography/My webshot album - http://gemunity.webshots.ge/user/jackclee100

Hawaiian Cultural Antiques/Collectibles in High Demand

Cultural antiques have often been a sector highly prized by many collectors. Especially of a specific ethnic peoples. Of late,I have discovered that certain collectibles of native Hawaiian origin have been in high demand and have sold rather quickly when listed on okay, often using the 'Buy It Now' feature. Many of these at nice low 4 figure prices! The reason is like many rare collectibles-little high quality supply AND big demand. I have sold as much as $5000 worth in 1 day-to 1 collector! Most sought after items are those made of native stone, wood ,bone

How to wear an ascot stickpin.

Just what is an ascot stickpin? How does one wear one?
Well you came to the right place!
Just what is an ascot stickpin?
An ascot stickpin is exactly that. A metal 'stick' withan adornment at the top and a 'clutch' at the bottom (to keep you from poking yourself and to keep your pin secure). It's one of the oldest styles of pins there is, often also worn on lapels, and lady's hats.
It is very well suited to ascot wear over a tie tack or other style pin, because the long 'stick' helps keep the entire ascot secure, and the two flaps of fabric from seperating while being worn. It also looks fairly deboinaire while doing so.
How to wear an ascot stickpin:

Step 1:
After you have satisfactorily tied your ascot, take your pin and center it over the area where you wish it to be 'held' and gently push it through the fabric of the top flap to the other side.

Step 2:
Flip the first side back so that you can get at the lower flap. Center it as best you can and push the pin end through the second flap.

Step 3:
Push the pin through the bottom flap and take up a bit of the shirt, this helps your ascot stay in place while being worn.

Step 4:
gee back up through the bottom flap and secure the end with the pin clutch.

Flip the top flap over, and you're done! It does take a few tries to get the hang of, but don't fret! Soon you too will bepinning with ease.

Identifying Acetate Records

Acetate records are generally recordings made either in-studio or at home, for various purposes. They can be just run off of the master tape for test purposes (to see what the artist thinks), demos or recorded messages. This guide will help you identify whether a record is an acetate.Recording surface. The acetate disk's recording surface is very soft, as the records were actually cut on a machine. The material for this surface is generally an acetate-based material (usually black, but colours vary), hence the name "acetate." It has a particular musty odour to it, as well. If there are any matrix numbers or messages engraved in the lead out (blank area round the label), it will be hand etched, and not machine stamped. However, if there is no label on the record, usually the gepany that made the actual disk will emboss their name round the centre hole. These are gepanies like Audiodisc or EMIdisc.Labeling. The record labels on acetate disks are usually paper, with the record gepany's (or sometimes, the manufacturing gepany's) name printed or handwritten on them. Also, the titles are either handwritten or typewritten. Sometimes, on home recordings or demo recordings, there is no paper label used. Instead, information on the record is handwritten in grease pencil, or in the case of cardboard acetates, in ink.Base materials. The base materials are the actual disk materials that the acetate recording surface covers. The materials could be cardboard, aluminum or glass. This makes the weight of the disc very very light in geparison with normal records. With the cardboard disks, the acetate is but a thin layer, and usually clear. Also, there is usually at least one hole, but sometimes two or three holes, round the perimeter of the centre hole. This is a post hole, secondary to the centre hole, for holding the record steady while recording. It should be noted, however, that there are some acetates that have no post hole. This is because some gepanies, like EMI and PYE records in England, used record cutting machines that were equipped with a vacuum suction device to hold the record steady. However, if the record is an acetate disc, it should meet the other criteria in this guide.Playing acetate records. Since they were actually cut on a machine, and the recording surface is soft, repeated playing decreases the sound quality. Considering that most of the acetates you will find have been used, there will be a bit of a hiss to them. This is no fault of the engineering; acetate records were not designed for repeated use.Fake acetates. Acetate records have been faked as well, and these fakes are not easy to identify. Sometimes, they were cut from the released record for radio or dance hall purposes. Sometimes, they were cut to actually mislead the buyer. First off, condition must be looked at. For something like a 50s or 60s acetate, there will usually be some wear, and yellowing of the labels. The paper should LOOK OLD. Also, there may be something like the acetate material chipping off round the edge of the record, and the record should play with some hiss, as stated before. The chipping usually happens when the recording surface dries out, and the base material can be seen underneath. Secondly, the label's printing must be taken into account. Is there a record gepany name printed or written on the label? Are there misspellings of the artist's name, or mark-outs with a pen? These must be checked. Another thing, is sometimes something will be written on the label in parentheses, like (Flat) or (EQ). This identifies whether the recording was equalised, or just run immediately off of the master to get an idea of what it would sound like. Finally, does the record match the general description of an acetate record, as mentioned in this guide? The post hole is important for the majority of acetates, because anyone could put a label over a regular released record. Acetate discs are very light in geparison to released records. If you have a question about it, and see no post hole, you may want to ask the seller to hold it up to the light to see if there is a hole beneath the label. In person, you would be able to thump the label area with your finger, and see if lets off a bit of a "ting" sound.Rarity of acetates. Some acetate records have different mixes of a recording, rather
than the released version. If you have a gemercially-issued version
of the recording on hand, you may want to gepare the two records to
see how they differ. The alternate version may be one-of-a-kind, and
the value is much higher than simply a released version on an acetate
record.
Acetates are rare enough anyway, though, as there are usually ten or fewer copies made of them. This does not take into account things like Fonotone records, which is an actual record label that released all of its records on acetates. They are still rare, and gemand a high price, but there may have been up to a hundred copies made of some of their titles.Hopefully, this will help you decide if you have an acetate record, or are looking at one. Some sellers are selling some records as acetates, when they are not. For example, gemercially issued 78s are usually heavy in weight, and made from shellac. gemercially issued 45s and LPs are usually made of a vinyl geposite, or even styrene in some cases. These materials are the same throughout the disk; there is no difference between the recording surface and the base material. Also, gemercially issued records are pressed, though some may have hand-etched matrix numbers in the lead-out area around the label.

Death in Office of United States Presidents

Death in Office of United States Presidents
Not only is an inaugural of a US president a collectible subfield of philately, but a term that is cut short is also. There have been nine presidents that did not finish their term of office. The reasons have been death due to illness, death due to assassination, or a retirement. Death covers of presidents are defined as a postal cover that is given a US postmark on the day of death of that president. A cover that is most highly prized would be one posted in the city of death, the city of birth, or Washington, DC. Thus death covers are very similar to inaugural covers.
Below is a list of the presidents and their day of death or early-retirement. The city of death is written after it. Be sure to look out for such covers since the pre-Roosevelt ones are quite rare and are without cachets indicating what they are. Hopefully you will find this list useful.

Harrison - April 4, 1841 - Washington, DC
Taylor - July 9, 1850 -Washington, DC

Lucite or plastic purses have not been manufactured now in about 40 years. They are very fragile and should be handled with care, even at a tag or yard sale.

CHOOSING A DOG SWEATER OR DOG COAT

Carving with Catline (Pipestone)

"Many ages after the red men were made, when all the different tribes were at war, the Great Spirit sent runners and called them all together at the "Red Pipe". He stood on the top of the rocks, and the red people were assembled in infinite numbers on the plains below. He took out of the rock a piece of the red stone and made a large pipe; he smoked it over them all; told them that it was part of their flesh; that though they were at war, they must meet at this place as friends..." George Catlin, 1844.
The stone is Minnesota Red Pipestone, quarried in Pipestone, MN, a sacred place for Native Americans. Pipestone, a red rock also known as Catlinite (named after George Catlin), was and is used to carve pipes and other sacred objects. Legend has it that the stone was made from the flesh and blood of the ancestors. Pipestone from Minnesota is quarried in the traditional way - by hand. Only hand tools and sweat are used to get through the up to 5 feet of quartzite which lays on top of the pipestone.
Catlinite is amazingly soft, only a 2 on the hardness scale. It can easily be carved into beautiful pipes, jewelry and other objects using only hand tools. Minnesota catlinite is the only true pipestone, much softer than that mined from Utah.
In this photo, the background is the raw catlinite that this pipe was carved from. See the veins of pinks, purples and shades of red? This is a very desirable piece of pipestone because of its thickness. Most pipestone is mined about 1 1/2" thick. Expect to pay much more for thicker pieces. But many fine things can be easily carved from smaller pieces.
Add some vintage beads to make interesting and unusual jewelry.Just use your hand tools to carve, then shine it up with fine sand paper. (Don't do it in the house - it creates a fine red dust that gets on everything!) You can polish catlinite using bee's wax or even vaseline!
There are many outstanding catlinite carvers/artists selling their goods on okay. You can also buy raw pieces to give it a try yourself.

Beyond Looking Good and Feeling Better - A NEW Face

Beyond Looking Good and Feeling Better - More than just make-up makes the makeover
The Look Good, Feel Better campaign for cancer survivors has served many well for many years. Avon has done much on the Breast Cancer forefront and geing from a metastatic patient , they are one of the few big charities that I believe acts in accordance with their good intentions. But the campaign has been around for some time, perhaps is a little too familiar and I think some of us have learned even more about ways to face cancer while not only looking good and normal, but dare I say it even FABULOUS. How about even the best you've ever looked in your life?! Think that can't be true? Then take a moment to review this guide, perhaps it can change your perception. Maybe you are a newly diagnosed survivor, or maybe you've been down the road a few times too. Yes I may be on my way again. But one of the best things about the cancer gemunity and the okay gemunity, is that we can learn so much from one another. Here are some ideas that worked for me, I have shared them in various ways, on local radio and tv and am working on the print media.
Attitude-we've heard it ad nauseum. And lets get real, we don't wake up every day feeling ready to fight the beast. There are many days, even the healthy ones where I roll back over and go back to dreamland. Sometimes its better and easier there. Of course beauty sleep is always helpful and you should give yourself permission to do it. Get every nap you can and some you can't. Its ok. And its ok to say you feel bad and you don't like this. Its ok not to pretend everything is rosy and push in on your psyche. A positive attitude is more than just shoveling sunshine. Its more of a rough justice. You are here, make the best of it, and be proud of doing even the simplest thing. That is positivity. Celebrating your acgeplishments. Maybe its as simple as making a sandwich when you are too tired to hold a piece of bread. Hey its work if you don't know. So before I go any further I want to get this positive attitude thing out of the way. Be positive...your way. But do hold your head up, and do know you don't have to look sad and sick. More than anything attitude will play a role in how you look and feel. Don't slouch, hold yourself, your posture reflects so much of your image. Be proud I didn't say happy...I said proud you are facing this. It has made you special. It has given you perspective. You can be sick and not be sickly. Now I'm about to put the hammer down on anyone who doesn't think Bald can be sexy.
nuff said?
Clothing-Now I've gone on about attitude and posture in relation to the image, and I doubt there is one other characteristic that made people assume that I had shaved my head for a fashion statement rather than due to illness than my body carriage. I could put on the most fantastic clothes, walk with my head down and eyes forlorn and it would be a waste of time. People will sense it. But once you've mustered your gusto, selecting gefortable, yet stylish CURRENT clothing with the proper accessories will help you carry your confidence even when you start to wilt. I certainly don't advise silver lame, unless you want to be as brash as some crazy people we know, yes that's me, and unless you are with safe reliable gepany. Can you imagine if I'd worn that to Sunday brunch? Alas, there are some fantastic stretch fabrics out there today that drape your body well and have a silky, shimmery characteristic to them. Even dare I say it elastic waist pants? Yes I have them. A great black pair will take you anywhere. And having to have tests and scans all the time requires easy on/easy off attire. Not to mention how things tend to wrinkle while sitting in waiting rooms and chemo chairs. Invest in drapy wrinkle resistant fabrics and then accessorize to the hilt. Accessories play a dual role. Scarves are still well known and used for covering and warming bald heads. But they can also cover catheter issues -I am out of treatment and still have to dress around my port, its sometimes fun to see how daring I can get using an accesory to cover the spot.- But scarves are just the tip of the iceberg. Big flower pins have been the rage in recent years. I find pinning one on a spaghetti strap top strap will cover more of my chest area and I can still wear things that otherwise cause problems. Plus it is much easier to access this way. So many halter tops today are versatile to cover various areas while revealing others. Even if you are older, try investing in some of these younger or junior styles and throw them on under a jacket. Then you are hipper, without revealing too much.
Think outside the box. What can you do with jewelry, scarves, and hats that doesn't look dated. Long earrings accentuate the neck on bald women and women with short hair. In fact these women can wear them and not look overdone, where as with hair they begee cumbersome, entangled, and a bit of overkill. Think of it as an advantage and seek them out. I have warping on my sternum where the bone has basically died and regrown. It constantly morphs. Radiation has left permanent sunburns and what looks like varicose vein skin on certain areas. Yet in the summer I don't want to wear turtlenecks permanently. I have found that layering jewelry over the top distracts the eye from these problems, as of course a standard scarf would. Larger jewelry takes focus off of damaged areas, surgical spots and uneven cleavage. Don't fear it. Use it. My husband thinks I'm the strangest woman not to want expesnive jewelry and diamond necklaces. I want costume pieces. Funky things that make people talk. Not only does it distract from problem areas, it gives you something other that cancer to discuss in polite conversation. You know how difficult that can be when you are with people who don't know your deal. You can still be classic with larger pieces. Choose them well and you'll be considered more of an icon than a follower who wears the standard pieces like everyone else. Remember you are special. Turn this around for yourself at every opportunity.
Shoes? Well vanity has me in her clutches. I still love my heels. But little mules and slides can allow you to slip them on easily and off if you have to lie on a table. Which is begeing all too familiar eh? Of course if you can't wear a heel you can't. Try embellished tennies and flip flops -more about pedicures in a bit-. Sometimes if I know I'm going to be sitting a great deal, I will wear the monsters. But I might have something else as a back up if I do too much moving about. With bling being so popular now, getting some beads and jewels on very plain shoes can be a great hobby for release as well as something to add zip to your style.
Makeup - ok this is a biggie. Many of us grew up on liquid foundation followed by translucent or pressed powder. I have always been crazy about foundation and a beautiful polished finish. But several things gee into play now that my life has been changed by illness. Dark circles have gotten darker, creases have gotten deeper, and my geplexion changes almost daily. Particulary on chemo, makeup can tend to look cakey and fake, and it is sometimes hard to find a foundation that matches this tone. Thank God for bronzers is my makeup mantra. Thank the maker for self tanner. There are many options, depending on how involved you want to get. I'm going to start with the simplest.
I never thought I would give into the trend of mineral makeup. I thought for sure I would not get enough coverage. I also thought I would look horribly powdery. This is gepletely false. Mineral makeup will most likely nourish you tired skin as well as look less powdery than any other form of coverage. Once on your skin the minerals blend into a soft sheen with a more fluid texture. It does not cake in the lines which will keep you from looking as drawn and tired. Brushing on some color...blush or bronzer on top will give you a healthy glow. People may gement on how beautiful your skin is. I regemend looking into foundations that are not as heavy at this time. If you need help for dark circles, there are many color correctors to choose from, and Igia makes a very paste like pigment that you might use sparingly on some scars and spots of that nature. Dermablend is another one for that type of problem. Just don't cover any areas that don't need anything that thick. A light self tanner -don't go too dark right now- can add natural tone back to your skin. Remember not to put anything that may aggravate over areas that are being radiated. Give that time to heal and use clothing as your camouflage in that area. I have to admit to using Sally Hansen spray stockings...basically spray foundation, to even out self tanner problems, and to cover my legs in the summer. It can be messy. Use in the shower and keep away from clothing until dry. But you don't have to rub this, giving your skin a nice break. Oh and body lotions now have a bit of shimmer and color in them, this is great for adding moisture and glow to your skin.
Lip balm, lip balm. Lipstick with moisturizers will help with the desert that has begee your mouth. Well water and lip balm. Use clear balm on elbows and ankle areas too to smooth skin and before applying spray self tan. It keeps things from caking up and you can wipe off while blending. But you probably want some color on your mouth. Try using something clear and thick and putting your finger in a shade of blush then running it through the gloss. Looks very natural. Natural is your focus. Too many times we may try to cover up, only to look worse. I was so mortified about losing my brows and they make fake ones, but a little pencil or powder along the brow line is all you really need. If you have trouble, check the drug store for patterns you can use and fill in. Faux lashes of course solve the missing eyelash problem, which is the one thing that screams chemo to the world. Just go easy on the delicate skin there. Dab Prep H around your eyes if they are swollen and puffy. Don't get it in your eyes...I'm sure you know that right? I knew you were smart!
Two things that I couldn't do on chemo that drove me nuts. No nail appointments and no sushi. You can't afford infection, and nail salons are notorious. But never had my nails looked worse in my life? After trying to deal with press on nails for special events, I found that fake nail manufacturers got smart and make french manicure nails that look like salon nails. The glue is not as strong and they can be removed much easier for cleaning and buffing. And then they even got smarter and did the same for toenails. So you can have the look of a mani and pedi without having to go. And honestly I hated to just sit there anyway.
Wigs-Oh how I gepletely underestimated the value of the wig. Ladies, they are the best thing since sliced bread. Ok maybe a little itch and ungefortable at times. But hello? Perfect hair? No expensive cuts, colors, conditioning treatments. Just throw on and go. Now there are some problems inherent with wig wearing that need to be addressed. I have already covered this in my wig guide. Please visit it for details. But I'm going to say this-have someone cut your wig to suit your face. Get it trimmed. Thin it out and ruff it up a bit when you first get it. It needs to look like hair, not cornsilk. Don't buy into the idea that expensive is always better. Granted cheap is cheap and not so great, but moderately priced wigs are everywhere now and with the extension trend growing -pun!- wigs are enjoying a geeback too. And all those people who say get one like your natural hair? WHY? This is your chance to be whatever it is you want and weren't born with. I got to have silk straight hair for the first and only time in my life. Now I'm still wearing wigs and out of treatment. I keep my hair short and change my hair with my outfit. Do NOT undervalue the appeal of a short, short haircut. I never saw such attention. Its stylish, sexy, easy. If I want hair, I put it on. My husband and I were both surprised at my sex appeal with the short hair. He loves it so much, he begs me to go short more often than not. Here is the key, don't let it get too long unless you are growing it out. Either short or full length. In between cuts look like soccer mom hair. It ages you and is quite dulling to the appearance. Here is my chance to say this to the world: JUST BECAUSE HAIR IS THERE IT DOESN'T MEAN IT LOOKS GOOD! If its dull, flat, thin, unkempt, wiry, cut it. Short is better than boring or just plain bad long. Honestly ladies sometimes I just want to run up to people with scissors and be the hair police. Hubby and I have a catch phrase. CTSO. Cut That S...Off! I love long hair. As long as its healthy. Bad long hair makes me itch. Quit clinging to a worn out security blanket. Grow up, be a woman. Have I made myself clear?
Along with wigs I will mention hats. Should you have a wig that's dying, or that the bangs are just too heavy on, multiple styles of hats cover this sin. Fedoras are hip and great. Berets, beanies, ballcaps. Really no one can tell its a wig under a hat. Hats are great alone, but you can get so much versatility using them together.
Well my dears, before I write another book, I will leave you with all of this to digest. You can find my first book in my store It won't win a Pulitzer, but you might get a chuckle or two. If any of these techniques help you or you have questions please feel free to contact me through okay. If you have pictures and ideas you'd like to share I'd love to see them. Who knows, maybe I should write that other book?
In love and strength,
